April’s Fool features selected works which have an element of humour, a funny bone, irony or sarcasm. In the same way as aesthetics can be inviting for the viewer to engage in an artwork, so can humor.

We often use humor as a diversion in awkward situations, when we have to deal with tragic circumstances or when we want to say something that we find difficult to address. And the humor can take many forms, from slapstick pranks to sarcastic remarks and from self-deprecation to witty remarks. the selected works each have their own approach to humour, and in the end it is not a given that everyone will find them funny....
